I’m excited to share that the audiobook edition of ADAM’S PROMISE is now available! Narrated by: Senn Annis.
This book is very special to me because it was one of my earliest published historical romance novels. I wrote it in 2001—hard to believe that was twenty-five years ago!—and I still remember how deeply I immersed myself in the research.
At the time, I was living near the Tantramar Marsh, on the border of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, when I came across fascinating information about settlers who had arrived in the area from Yorkshire, England, in the late 1700s. My curiosity was instantly sparked, and I was fortunate to attend an academic conference on the subject at Mount Saint Vincent University. It provided me with a wealth of research material, as well as tours of historic sites that helped bring the story vividly to life.
To this day, writing ADAM’S PROMISE remains one of my most treasured novel-writing experiences, and I’m thrilled that readers can now enjoy it in audio for the very first time.
To celebrate, the Kindle eBook edition will be on sale for just 99 cents beginning May 26 and continuing through June 1, 2026.
More About the Book…
ADAM’S PROMISE is a sweet historical romance set in colonial Nova Scotia, near the windswept beauty of the Tantramar Marsh. It tells the story of Madeline Oxley, a young woman whose future has been shattered by scandal through no fault of her own. When a gentleman from her past invites her to cross the ocean and become his wife, she seizes the chance for a new beginning—as a mail-order bride in the New World.
But when Madeline arrives in Nova Scotia, full of hope and romantic dreams, she discovers a painful truth: Adam Coates, now a prosperous landowner, had intended to marry her beautiful older sister, Diana—his first love.
What follows is a story of disappointment, resilience, friendship, and the slow discovery that sometimes the heart has chosen wrongly… until love opens its eyes.
ADAM’S PROMISE was a Romance Writers of America RITA Finalist, nominated for Best Short Historical Romance of 2003. It remains a tender, emotional story for readers who enjoy sweet historical romance, second chances, and love stories set against the rugged beauty of early Nova Scotia.
The audiobook arrives May 26, 2026, and the Kindle edition is 99 cents from May 26 until June 1, 2026. It’s the perfect time to revisit Madeline and Adam’s story—or discover it for the first time!
